This award is bestowed upon an organization for recruiting, retaining and advancing women in transportation.
This is especially rewarding, as industry sources indicate that as of 2013, only 12% of engineers in the workforce were female. At Weston & Sampson 28% of our engineers are women and 17% of our corporate leaders are women, including our Chief Operating Officer. Not only does Weston & Sampson hire more women engineers than the national average, our flexible schedules and collaborative, supportive work environment results in retention rates for women well above the national average.
The award will be presented at the WTS Annual Awards Dinner on April 20, 2017, at St. Clements Castle in Portland, CT.
Founded in 1977, WTS is an international organization dedicated to building the future of transportation through the global advancement of women. Boasting more than 6,500 members--both women and men--WTS is helping women find opportunity and recognition in the transportation industry.
