We are seeking a full-time health and safety manager for the Contract Operations and Construction, Maintenance, and Repair groups. This individual will maintain and recommend safety policies and training. More specifically, this individual will be responsible for preparing and reviewing Health & Safety plans and manuals for ongoing operations at various work sites; completing on-site safety audits and preparing reports to upper management and safety committee for review; and tracking all personal injury and accident reports, including workers compensation and auto accidents. This individual will also be the on-site trainer for Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)-required training as well as other safety training as required.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in an environmental science or related field and have some experience working in the water and wastewater industry. Candidate must be comfortable interacting with people on all levels and be reliable, flexible, and proactive. Outstanding organization skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision under deadlines are necessary.
Additional job requirements include:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
- Three to five years of experience in Health & Safety environment
- Knowledge of some type of project software
- Experience working in an environmental or operation company is desirable
- Ability to work flexible hours (occasional late night or early morning meetings)
- Ability to travel, as needed, and must have a valid drivers license
- Must have successfully completed the OSHA 500 and 501 training courses
