Southern New Hampshire Regional Water Supply Project Receives EEA
Weston & Sampson is proud to have been honored as a Gold award recipient and “2021 Overall Winner” as top project by the ACEC-NH for the Southern New Hampshire Regional Water Supply Project, signifying the year’s most outstanding engineering achievement. The Engineering Excellence Award was delivered during an online ceremony on March 25, 2021. Initially conceived to address widespread groundwater contamination of private and public water supply wells by the gasoline additive methyl tert-butyl ether (MtBE), the SNHRW project provided a long-term regional solution to supply reliable and accessible potable water while mitigating drought conditions to all the SNHRW communities. The project was a regional celebratory success due to effective communication among all parties, including the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, other state agencies, multiple towns, private water utilities, and contractors.
