Several Weston & Sampson professionals will be participating in a panel sponsored by American Trails titled “Brownfields to Trails: Steps to Success” on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. The webinar will discuss the major steps and considerations for planners and designers when designing trails on Brownfields sites.
Daniel Biggs, Landscape Architect; Sarah DeStefano, Team Leader; and George Naslas, PG, LSP, Vice President will be joined by Rick Wood of AccelParks and John Brown, PLA, ASLA, LEED AP of Barge Design Solutions, Inc. The presenters will cover how past site uses influence and inform the design of trails and address common project challenges. They will describe how to get started, the various factors influencing design, and several case studies illustrating successfully implemented trails within Brownfields. The webinar, which qualifies as a Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW) course via LA CES, and CEUs are free, but donations to American Trails are gratefully accepted.
