A recent article in the Boston Business Journal about pending improvements to Boston Common featured Weston & Sampson and Cheri Ruane, our Landscape Architecture Practice Leader. The firm, who is working with the Friends of the Public Garden on the project, presented a master plan that outlined improvements to several areas several areas such as the Frog Pond, Visitor Information Center, athletic fields and tennis courts, the entrance to the MBTA Park Street station, and the entrance to the Common from Charles Street. At the meeting, attended by Boston Mayor Martin Walsh, Cheri described how the Boston Common master plan team will hold open discussions on park-wide strategies for improvements, visitor activities, performance and active recreation, and the gateway and edges of the park throughout September and into October.
