Existing Boiler Plant Evaluation and Replacement for Town Police Station
Weston & Sampson provided site observation and review of existing documentation to evaluate and determine the condition of the existing gas fired modular hot water boilers for the Burlington, MA Police Station. Investigation revealed two boilers of the six had failed and two more were near failure. The Weston & Sampson team made recommendations to replace boilers in kind or provide some required upgrades to the existing HVAC system to accommodate installing high-efficiency gas-fired condensing boilers to raise the overall boiler plant efficiency by approximately 10-12%. Without the HVAC upgrades, there would be periods of operation in which a new condensing hot water boiler plant would not be able to achieve the desired efficiency.
