Weston & Sampson’s Malcolm Beeler and Blake Martin co-chaired a webinar entitled “PCBs in Building Materials – Strategies for Minimizing Project Impacts” on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. The webinar was presented by the Environmental Business Council of New England, Inc. Emilee Mooney Scott of Robinson+Cole also co-chaired.
Malcolm, a recognized expert in this subject, highlighted proposed changes to the EPA’s PCB regulations and the inherent variability associated with the sampling methodologies and remediation techniques. Also discussed was the new indoor air sampling program in Vermont that requires indoor air quality testing for PCBs in schools. If PCBs are identified in indoor air, this may lead to a remediation program at the municipality’s expense.
