Ridgeland Sewer System SSES
Weston & Sampson was selected to provide initial investigations including flow monitoring at several key locations in the gravity collection system as well as at several of the town’s larger wastewater pump stations. We performed smoke testing of the system following an evaluation of the collected flow data. The town has not performed a comprehensive study of their system recently and are taking incremental steps in the development of an SSES program. Weston & Sampson was chosen to begin this process for the town for the following scope of work:
- Inspection of 440 manholes
- Flow monitoring at 15 identified pump stations
- Flow monitoring for 79,000 linear feet of gravity sewer
- Smoke testing of approximately 30,000 linear feet of gravity sewer
Using preliminary GIS files provided by the town, Weston & Sampson created a geodatabase that included all assets associated with the wastewater system along with information collected during the study. This geodatabase will serve as an important tool for managing the town’s CMOM program.
Following this project, the town developed a comprehensive rehabilitation project to reduce inflow and infiltration.
