Indrani Ghosh, PhD honored by the Charles River Watershed Association with their prestigious “Clean Charles Award”
Weston & Sampson congratulates our own Indrani Ghosh, PhD for being honored by the Charles River Watershed Association with their prestigious “Clean Charles Award.”
Indrani has over 15 years of experience as a water resources engineer and technical lead, specializing in leading interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders through risk-based prioritization of adaptation solutions. She was the project manager and technical lead in developing an integrated, watershed-wide 2D flood model called the Charles River Flood Model for the river’s 270-square-mile middle and upper watersheds. The first of its kind for the Charles River watershed, the model is used to assess potential flooding impacts under present and future climate scenarios of more extreme heavy rain events and to evaluate the potential flood mitigation benefits of seven watershed-wide strategies using green infrastructure alternatives.
The Clean Charles Award is presented to an individual or agency/institution that has made great strides in eliminating pollution from the Charles River through implementing law, policy, or structural improvements in the watershed. Indrani will be presented with her award at the CRWA’s 56th annual meeting on March 31, 2022, which will be held virtually.
CRWA’s mission is to protect, restore, and enhance the Charles River and its watershed through science, advocacy and the law by developing science-based strategies to increase resilience, protect public health, and promote environmental equity.
