Nadeau, Kohn and Boynton Present at NPC21

On Wednesday, May 5, 2021, Joanna Nadeau presents “How to Apply for Grants Without Getting Overwhelmed,” during the APA Career Center Speed Share: Professional Growth sessions. Municipal budgets are constrained from the pandemic, making supplemental grant funding an even bigger necessity. Viewers will learn how planners' skills and thinking can be applied to strategically capture grants, drawing on work with dozens of municipalities to secure state/federal funding.

On Friday, May 7, Amanda Kohn, AICP, and Adria Boynton present “Engagement for Everyone: Strategies for Accessible Virtual Engagement during COVID-19” along with Ibrahim López-Hernández of Green Roots, and Ky’Ron Owens from the Boston Office of Emergency Management. Amanda presents the “how” of virtual engagement, and Ibrahim and Ky’Ron present examples of virtual engagement strategies used in their cities. Adria facilitates a Q&A with the audience and panelists, who should come away with an understanding of how to:

  • Craft a creative and dynamic virtual engagement plan, including interactive webinars, website expansion, and social media
  • Identify new tools, resources, and partners to make your engagement process more accessible
  • Learn to create accessible graphics and dynamic opportunities for feedback through polling, virtual Q&A sessions, surveys, and more
