Peer Review, Value Engineering and Constructability Review
The Village of Essex Junction sought independent third-party engineering assistance to provide an experienced constructability analysis of the Civil/Site, Structural and Process design documents, and proposed construction sequencing for rehabilitation of their WWTF. This review focused on identifying possible “snags” and inefficiencies in the project design and construction phasing, in order to enhance time and cost efficiency during the permitting and construction of this project.
- We assembled a highly qualified team of senior Weston & Sampson professional staff representing our Wastewater Engineering Group, our construction arm (Weston & Sampson CMR), and our wastewater operations group (Weston & Sampson Services).
- Our recommendations resulted in significant anticipated construction cost and operations and maintenance (O&M) savings to the owner, and overall improved construction sequencing.
- Many of our suggestions were related to construction, sequencing, and safety considerations for the rehabilitation of the facility. These suggestions had minimal impact on the actual design plans and helped to limit owner liability exposure during construction.
- Our report was well received by both the owner and their engineering consultant.
