Permitting and Design for New Water Transmission Main
Weston & Sampson was retained by Charleston Water System (CWS) to provide design services for a new water transmission main along Palmetto Commerce Parkway, being funded by Roadwise.
The project scope included surveying, design, permitting, bidding, construction administration, and construction inspection for the extension of 21,000 feet of 24 inch Ductile Iron Water Transmission Main for CWS. Coordination was ongoing with Roadwise, North Charleston Public Works (NCPW) and South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT). The Project also includes wetland crossings and Hydraulic Modeling.
Weston & Sampson provided early coordination with Roadwise to confirm the feasibility of working within the current Ocean & Coastal Resource Management (OCRM) Land Disturbance Permit and US Army Corps of Engineers Permit. The survey team performed existing conditions surveys, from which complete base drawings for water main construction and GIS incorporation based on state plan coordinates were developed.
