National Grid Project Expeditor Rockport

Water Treatment Plant and Low Lift Pump Station Lighting Upgrades

The Town of Rockport recently upgraded lighting at the town-owned Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Low Lift Pump Station (LLPS). These upgrades were designed to conserve energy while also providing benefits in lighting quality and quantity. The new lighting provides environmental benefits and reduction in time and labor associated with less regular lighting maintenance. Occupancy sensors were installed to work with the new fixtures, which will reduce the run hours, as lighting will only be utilized when and where it is needed. The new system includes installation of the following equipment:

  • WTP
  • 146 LED Fixtures
  • The fixtures include LED options for vaportight, 2x4, wallpack, flood, and highbay fixtures

These projects were eligible for incentives under the MassSave program. As a Project Expeditor, Weston & Sampson assisted the town in applying for a utility rebate. As a result the town received a rebate from National Grid in the amount of $13,650.
