Frank Ricciardi, PE, LSP co-authored an article in the latest issue of the New England Real Estate Journal entitled “MassDEP Imposes Strict Standards for PFAS in Industrial Surface Water Discharges.”
The article, co-authored by Peter Durning, Esq. of Mackie, Shea & Durning discusses surface water discharge permits that the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) issued in the past month to private industries/companies that imposed monitoring regulations for polyfluorinated alkylated substances (PFAS) even though there are no regulatory standards for such discharges. They go on to state that MassDEP should instead harness its internal expertise and publish its regulatory framework with proper technical support and administrative procedure.
