Structural Inspection at the Public Garden

Weston & Sampson’s structural engineering group, including Rick Campbell (Team Leader) and Scott Bruso (Project Manager) conducted an inspection of the signature pedestrian suspension bridge (ca. 1867), which crosses the lagoon at the historic Public Garden (ca. 1837) in Boston. This was not your average bridge inspection, with key support provided by the Paget Family (operators of the iconic swan boat concession since 1877) in the form of an actual swan boat with two operators, meaning peddlers! Thanks to the Paget family and to our clients, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department for help with all of the day’s logistics.
