Climate Resilient Design Guidelines for Boston

Weston & Sampson worked with the City of Boston to develop Climate Resilient Design Standards & Guidelines for Protection of Public Rights-of-Way. The guidelines are organized to intuitively lead users through the process of designing flood protection for projected climate conditions while evaluating applicable design considerations, operation and maintenance procedures, and related costs.

Early Adaptation Key to Climate Resiliency

So far in 2018, we’ve experienced two Nor’Easter storms that have resulted in an estimated $2.8 billion dollars in damages. In looking a back at 2017, “…the U.S. experienced 16 weather and climate disasters with losses exceeding $1 billion, with total costs of approximately $306 billion – a new U.S. annual record,” according to the recent NOAA report. Early adaptation is key to preparing for and preventing future damages.
