We provide traditional services such as evaluation, design, and construction of drainage infrastructure, as well as state-of-the art services such as digital data collection/management and the incorporation of green practices/low impact development (LID) into our designs. Our experience ranges from addressing individual residential needs to system-wide drainage master planning to instructional training and informational presentations. Our first-hand knowledge of stormwater best management practices (BMPs) enables us to advise and assist our clients with challenging stormwater quality and quantity issues.
Our engineers, scientists, hydrologists, and permitting specialists have experience helping clients navigate regulations to meet municipal, state, and federal requirements, including the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Clean Water Act and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System program compliance. Additionally, we have assisted many communities with Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) compliance and have an in-depth knowledge of the MS4 permit.
We offer a holistic, interdisciplinary approach to integrating stormwater with land use and infrastructure, finding solutions that balance human and natural systems. Weston & Sampson completed a multi-phase improvement project at North Colonie High School’s Shaker Campus, transforming eight schools over four phases with innovative stormwater management using infiltration systems and bioretention, plus redesigned circulation, enhanced athletic fields, and custom features like a paver traffic circle and Veterans Memorial.
