Brawley School Road (Iredell County, NC) was an extremely congested urban corridor. For this project, we widened the corridor from 2 to 4 lanes with a raised median, for a total length of 3.8 miles.
Our firm provided:
- Traffic capacity analysis
- Design layout of 17 intersections
- ROW and final construction plans
- Six retaining wall envelopes
We also provided hydraulic design, for extensive storm drainage systems, which required consideration of major utilities. These systems consisted primarily of curb and gutter storm system design and required coordination with numerous developers, property owners, Iredell County Schools, and the Lake Norman volunteer fire department, as well as the Williamson’s Chapel UMC expansion project.
