Water Infrastructure Initiatives in the Town of Schodack, NY
Weston & Sampson was extensively involved in the Town of Schodack’s major water infrastructure initiative to bring water to selected parts of town. We performed water planning, including preparation of reports, permitting, design, bidding, construction administration, and inspection.
The creation, expansion. and improvement of numerous water and sewer districts has been a key part of our professional services, and has formed the basis for a smooth legal process, culminating in the consolidation of water districts within the town.
New Town Water Supply
Production wells, pumping station and treatment facility for a new 1 MGD town water supply.
Transmission Main
7,800 linear feet (lf) of 12-inch water main to connect the new water supply to the town center.
Storage Reservoir
475,000 gallon standpipe
Highway Garage Water System
15,500 lf of 12-inch water main and booster pump station to serve the eastern part of the town.
Water District 8 and Water District 2A
Create WD8 and construct 8-inch, 10-inch, and 12-inch water mains serving the central part of Schodack. WD 2A involved replacing old 2-inch piping with new 8-inch piping and hydrants.
Water District 9
Creation of District and construction of services and hydrants in Highway Garage area.
Water District 1
Improvement of water supply, wells, and treatment including increase in capacity and redundancy.
Water District 7
New district created to serve an area of impacted wells and formed the basis of extension to Water District 3.
Water District 3
Improvement including new source of supply from WD 1 & WD 7.
Castleton Interconnect Study
Intermunicipal connect with neighboring village to provide supplemental water supply.
Sewer District 8
New district serving Schodack Landing including collection treatment and new permitted discharge.
Sewer District 5
Improvement to treatment plant serving East Schodack.
