Dam Safety Consulting Services

Over the past 15 years, Weston & Sampson has been providing the Town of Sutton with ongoing dam safety consulting services for three of its dams.

Our geotechnical engineers regularly inspect the two high hazard dams and one low hazard dam in accordance with the Massachusetts ODS requirements and prepare “Phase I Inspection / Evaluation” Reports. Related services have also included planning, engineering, design, and permitting tasks associated with repairs and remedial modifications to Stevens Pond Dam, a project that depended on securing state or federal funding. On the town’s behalf, we successfully applied for funding through the Dam, Levee, and Seawall Repair or Removal Grant administered by MA EEA. As part of our services, we continue to strategically monitor various state and federal funding opportunities for the remaining dams and related watershed infrastructure.
