Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline

Routing Determination & Survey for New Transmission Corridor

Weston & Sampson provided survey, design, permitting, materials procurement, and construction bidding services for the installation of 22,000 feet of 12-inch natural gas transmission pipeline in Burlington, North Carolina.

The new transmission line replaced an existing 10-inch transmission line. Our team provided preliminary and final routing determination of the new pipeline; the pipeline installed cross country and follows portions of the existing gas line right-of-way. We also provided field survey and utility location services, development of permanent utility easement, and development of transmission pipeline alignment plans. The project also included development of mechanical piping plans for a launcher/receiver assembly installed at the end of the new pipeline; development of erosion and sedimentation control plans; and horizontal directional drill design (HDD) of NCDOT state road crossings. Finally, we provided materials procurement and construction bidding services, and secured the necessary NCDOT, NCDENR, and environmental permits required for construction.
