Above-Ground Fueling System & Salt Shed

Combined Fuel & Winter Operations Infrastructure Design

Weston & Sampson designed, bid, and oversaw the construction of an above-ground fueling system for the Town of Northborough, Massachusetts.

Work included site grading and drainage design, along with the design of two 10,000 gallon above-ground fuel tanks (diesel and gasoline). System design features included an overhead canopy with fire suppression, along with continuous electronic monitoring of the tanks for leak detection and a fuel management system with a dual security function that ties into the DPW’s computer network. We also provided services for the design and construction of the town’s salt storage structure, as well as a DPW Master Plan that established long-term development plans for the construction of a new DPW facility at the site.
