Green Line Extension (GLX) in Cambridge/Somerville

Project Oversight for Billion-Dollar Transit Light Rail Expansion

In conjunction with other firms, Weston & Sampson has provided a range of project management support services as part of the MBTA’s comprehensive, multi-faceted, multi-disciplined, and multi-entity GLX project.

The project expands light rail service by adding five new stations along the Medford/Lowell line and a second branch along the Fitchburg/Lowell line. Our services have included design and construction management, program controls oversight, real estate and third-party coordination, administrative support, and environmental support. Some of our tasks have included environmental and LSP services, development of control measures related to program funding and budget/schedule/risk management, stormwater management assistance, construction management support, and more.
