South End Storm Drainage Study
Stormwater Modeling & Drainage Improvements for Urban District
The Town of Stratford, Connecticut, selected Weston & Sampson to perform a drainage study of the South End neighborhood, where flooding has made roads impassable and damaged properties;
Our work focused on seven areas of concern identified during a Resilient Stratford South End public workshop. We used the program PCSWMM to model hydraulics of existing conditions and proposed improvements, which included upsizing channels and pipes/culverts, providing underground storage, and installing pumps. We also prepared an opinion of probable construction cost for each recommended improvement.
