New Public Works, Police, & Fire Facilities
Designing a modern municipal campus that brings public works, police, and fire services together to support efficient community operations.
The Town of Easton partnered with Weston & Sampson to design a new municipal complex to consolidate the town’s existing police, fire, and public works departments
The new, centralized facility on Depot Street includes approximately 10 acres of site work. The project also included the design of a new fire sub-station at Washington Street and Main Street to replace the existing Station 3 on Bay Road.
The state of the town’s existing facilities on Lothrop Street, constructed between 50 and 70+ years ago, posed numerous problems, including outdated accessibility, safety, and environmental codes. Additionally, the size of the facilities was no longer suitable for the number of personnel and on-site equipment. The new facility consists of multiple trade shops for various departments, including a water shop and a carpentry shop, along with room for various building trades (HVAC, plumbing, etc.) to work.
This project will allow the town to reduce the overcrowding of equipment and subsequent exposure to the elements. Employees will have more space to work, reducing potential safety issues. The town will ultimately reduce annual capital spending by eliminating ongoing, unnecessary maintenance and repairs.
