Sewer Asset Management Grant

Real-Time Data Integration for Sewer Asset Inventory & CIP Planning

Weston & Sampson provided guidance on best practices for GIS integration as part of a transition from one asset management platform (Utility Cloud) to another (OpenGov, formerly Cartograph) in the Town of Hull, Massachusetts.

Part of an asset management grant through the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP), the project involves centralizing the town’s sewer GIS system into ArcGIS Online, enhancing accessibility for all stakeholders. Our team is providing expertise in the integration process and supporting the successful rollout, ensuring operations and maintenance remain uninterrupted throughout the transition. The town aims to enhance its sewer service cards through field investigations, and we are coordinating the analysis of tabular and GIS data sources to identify areas suitable for fieldwork. We will also oversee contractor engagement for televised inspections of main lines and sewer laterals. The data from these investigations will be incorporated into the GIS system, with sewer laterals digitized, and new service cards created based on the findings.
