Contact UsWeston & Sampson has helped communities provide safe drinking water for more than 125 years.
Robert Spurr Weston and George Sampson, pioneers in the field of drinking water engineering, founded Weston & Sampson in 1899. This partnership achieved a number of “firsts” in water treatment, including one of the first rapid sand filtration plants in the United States. Today, our engineers, scientists, and operators continue to provide innovative, as well as cost-effective and sustainable, solutions to water supply and water treatment challenges.
One of the most important elements for the economic stability and future growth of any municipality is the ability to provide existing and potential customers with a sufficient supply and quality of potable water. Weston & Sampson is an industry leader in drinking water system planning, design, and improvement projects that help clients meet their water system needs.
We have provided expert water system master planning, hydraulic modeling, and water facilities evaluation and planning services for hundreds of communities. Our team of engineers has planned, designed, and placed numerous water treatment plants in operation. We provide water main cleaning and cement lining, as well as engineering design and construction administration for new water main installations ranging from 6-inch ductile iron to 72-inch pre-stressed concrete cylinder pipe. Our expertise also includes water service installation and private well abandonment, completed through both traditional design-bid-build methods and using our in-house construction services and well and pump department.

Climate change has made traditional drought planning obsolete as severe droughts become more frequent, requiring water managers to balance aquifer withdrawals with natural recharge rates rather than simply drilling deeper wells. Weston & Sampson helps communities achieve sustainable water management by incorporating climate predictions and green infrastructure solutions to build long-term resilience against extended drought periods.
