Azalea Fuel Facility

11-Acre Fuel Facility Redevelopment with $14M Construction Scope

Weston & Sampson provided design, permitting, and construction phase services for redevelopment of an 11-acre site to provide fueling facilities, an automated vehicle wash facility, and an administration building for Charleston County’s public works fleet.

Our designers carefully considered access and turning radii from the adjacent public works facility, while preserving green spaces and existing trees. Design features included placement of fill to provide resilience against flooding, provision of backup power, use of earthquake drains to protect against seismic settlement, and hydrodynamic separators to preserve stormwater quality. The project also included the redevelopment of 3,000 LF of road and the decommissioning and demolition of former fueling facilities at a separate site.
