Deerfield MassDOT NEVI Program

Weston & Sampson provided electrical engineering services for the Deerfield EV Fast Charging Hub, the first of its kind in the Eastern United States.

Developed in partnership with Rivermoor Energy and supported by a $2.46 million Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) grant, the public-access facility includes four EV chargers: two dual-port Level 3 DC fast chargers and two dual-port Level 2 chargers. The project supports clean energy goals while integrating environmental engineering solutions that address climate change impacts. In addition to its transportation benefits, the hub features pedestrian walkways that connect to nearby downtown businesses, promoting both sustainability and local economic development. Weston & Sampson designed the site’s electrical infrastructure to support the advanced charging capabilities and future expansion. Key project stakeholders include the Federal Highway Administration, the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation, and MassDOT, whose collaboration helped deliver a replicable model for clean mobility and climate-resilient infrastructure.
