New Public Works Facility

DPW Site Programming with Facility Needs & Site Constraints Review

Weston & Sampson prepared a feasibility study and site selection analysis for a new DPW facility in Longmeadow, Massachusetts.

Following the space needs assessment and comprehensive site selection analysis, we assisted with obtaining funding approval from the town, and the town purchased a preferred site. Our team then prepared final design and bid documents for the new facility, which includes office/office support space, employee facilities (locker/shower/toilet/break and training), trade shops, vehicle maintenance, vehicle wash, and vehicle and equipment storage areas. The project also included a new salt shed, town-wide fueling facility, and bulk material storage area. We incorporated sustainable design elements into the MEP systems, such as natural daylighting, heat recovery ventilation, high-efficiency condensing boilers, radiant floor heating, occupancy sensor HVAC control, smart lighting controls, and a solar-ready roof.
