New Public Works Facility
DPW Programming with Full Site Assessment & Facility Planning
The Town of Marshfield, Massachusetts, engaged Weston & Sampson to prepare a programming study and initial design for a new Public Works facility.
Once the town decided to construct a reduced building at a new site rather than the existing site, we prepared a design that would meet the operational needs of the DPW and the town’s budget. The design included large vehicle maintenance bays, a large vehicle garage, and staff support spaces, including a muster/training room, lockers and showers, and offices. We supported the town in the self-performance of some of the initial sitework, including replacement of geotechnically deficient soils and stormwater drainage and infiltration structures. Our team also helped design and oversee construction of a wetland replication project at the existing DPW site, including initial evaluation of a previously filled wetlands area, design of the restored wetland, and continued inspection of the new wetlands plantings.
