Oak Point Recreational Center

Weston & Sampson provided multidisciplinary services for a $10M renovation and expansion of the Oak Point Recreation Center outdoor aquatic facility in Plano, Texas.

Our team’s conceptual site plan included a double-ended wave pool; family pool with volleyball and basketball amenities; kiddie slides; splash pad; and overhead activity tower with rope bridges, water cannon activators, and sprays. Our designs are fully ADA-accessible, and both pools have deck spray features and pipe drops to help cool water as it recirculates.

We also designed the deck and deck drainage systems, shade areas, and selected low maintenance plantings to enhance the proposed improvements. Additionally, our team designed a facility building for restrooms, a lifeguard muster room, winter storage space, and a mechanical equipment room; as well as a concession/ticket entry stand. Finally, we provided MEP services, including site/building lighting and water and HVAC service to the building addition and concessions stand.
