Public Works Operations Center
Operations Center Programming with Multi-Site Evaluation
Weston & Sampson served as the prime consultant for the programming/feasibility study and design of a 120,000-SF consolidated public works facility in the City of Waterbury, Connecticut.
Based on programming data we gained through staff interviews, our team developed conceptual plans on an 8-acre Brownfield site that included 20,000 SF of new construction and the adaptive reuse of 100,000 SF of former warehouse buildings. We also provided architectural, structural, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and site/civil design services; cost estimating; and construction phase services. Using the Construction Management at Risk delivery method, our team helped meet the DPW’s operational needs while adhering to the city’s budget limitations, resulting in a $30.4M state-of-the-art public works facility that will address the current and future needs of the city.
