Church Road Water Booster Station

Water Booster Station Upgrade with Redundancy & Capacity Enhancements

Weston & Sampson was selected in 2020 by the Connecticut Water Company to provide design and bid phase services for a replacement water booster station on Church Road, Southbury, Connecticut.

The station was designed for a pumping capacity not less than 1,500 gpm using three equally sized pumps. One pump handles average flows, the second pump handles peak flows, and the third pump provides redundancy. Internal piping included a bypass and PRV with pressure relief to feed bi-directionally through the station. Our team provided geotechnical engineering, site/civil, permitting, architectural, structural, electrical and HVAC design support. The project also included performing a hazardous building materials survey to support the demolition of the existing 1970s era pumping station.
