Manhole Inspections & Asset Management Planning

SRF-Funded Wastewater Asset Management with GIS-Based Condition Ratings

Weston & Sampson was selected by the Town of Berlin, Vermont to assist in developing improved mapping as well as a management plan for their aging infrastructure.

Our team performed sewer manhole location and inspection of approximately 300 sewer manholes and is preparing an asset management plan. In preparation for an asset prioritization as part of the wider asset management plan, we incorporated a system wide inventory of horizontal and vertical assets in ArcGIS. With the town’s existing licensure and for no additional expenditure these asset inventories can be included in their wider GIS placing each condition assessment in a geographic context. Developing within the ArcGIS platform means that the town has access to a host of platform components such as ArcGIS online, Survey123, and more to help extend the accessibility and functionality of this data. The town funded this project through the Vermont State Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan program.
